Abstract

This presenter symposium brings together five papers that examine individuals and teams in the context of, or affected by, hybrid work (i.e., a form of organizing in which individuals and teams frequently alternate between on-site and remote work locations). The papers investigate how hybrid work shapes employee expectations and behavior, as well as key team-level processes and outcomes, including engagement, leadership, and the meaning of on-site work. Drawing on qualitative and quantitative methods, including interviews, experience sampling, longitudinal survey data, and ethnographic observations, the papers collectively offer novel insights into how hybrid work restructures organizing, collaboration, and communication.
