Abstract
This research explores socially responsible procurement (SRP) in coffee supply chains in a developing country context. It addresses issues like overproduction, fluctuating prices, and farmers' welfare in Indonesia. A literature review and multiple case studies will identify SRP drivers and barriers. Semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions with stakeholders will provide insights. The study aims to reveal correlations between SRP practices and improved outcomes, using institutional theory to explain adoption motivations, focusing on legitimacy and economic reasons. This research contributes to SRP knowledge, particularly in developing country contexts, and aids policymakers and NGOs in promoting sustainability.
